    A TIME TO PONDER

I don't usually write about religion. But November 6th is my birthday and I think the years has mellowed me out a little bit. OK! Perhaps I have mellowed out a lot! I deserve it. There are many things I have seen and experienced over the years. It is known as the "human experience". At an early age, I looked for more in life than surviving from day to day and I wondered what the meaning of life is all about. Many years ago, I came across something in print that made my eyes tear up as I read it. Since then, I have read it many times and felt calmness each time. I experienced a connection with a force more powerful than anything man on Earth can create. This force comes from the Creator of all the universe. I began reading the King James Version Of The Holy Bible and discovered the Creator has had many names over the thousands of years of Earth's existence. Today, He is referred to as the Lord or Almighty God and He has a Son whose name is Jesus Christ.  There is a war going on for control of our planet. God,His Son Jesus Christ, the Angels in Heaven, and a vast army of Christian soldiers on Earth have banded together to defend and protect all that is good and just. The enemy is the dreaded Devil and his legion of demons. The outcome has already been decided and it is only a matter of time until the Devil and his followers are driven into the fire and brimstone where they belong. I can hardly go into a retail store that does not have a copy of what I have been reading again and again over the years. I have seen these words on wall plaques, plates, place mattes, and on book markers. And the amazing thing is, the author is unknown. I am going to print it here for all to read. It has made a special meaning in my life. I hope you will feel the same.

    FOOTPRINTS

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene,he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to him,and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of his life flashed before him,he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I need you most, you would leave me". The Lord replied,"My precious, precious child. I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints,it was then that I CARRIED YOU".

Such a wonderful inspirational poem! I remember feeling the same the first time I read it. I've also posted it on my blog a few years ago. I read somewhere that it actually has 3 Authors.
