    MOVIE REVIEW

    Movie review now in theaters:
    "The Informant"

Matt Damon stars in a true story of a high ranking executive who blows the whistle on corporate fraud. And,by the way,his own hands are not very clean. He embezzled $9 million(US) dollars and never tells the FBI. His FBI agent contact is skillfully played by Scott Bakula who has to sift through all the lies and deceit to bring those responsible to justice.  And,in the process,Bakula finds out about the $9 million dollars and all hell breaks loose!  By the way, there are two interesting side notes to this movie. 1-The funky music soundtrack is reminiscence of the 1950's era even though the story takes place in the 1990's. There is plenty of jazz music in the background. And 2-The color photography is soft and subdued like a 1950's film would be. I almost expected Peter Gunn to walk up to Matt Damon's character and ask him his whereabouts on the night in question. "Who is Peter Gunn?",you may ask. Peter Gunn was a private detective played by Craig Stevens in the black and white TV series of the same name featuring music by Henry Mancini. Each week Gunn would help police Lt. Jacoby(Herschel Bernardi) solve crimes and put bad guys in prison. Gunn's favorite hangout was a waterfront bar called Mom's where his girlfriend Edie Hart(Lola Albright) sang. OK! Back to my review. "The Informant" is a look at top executives of an international company who thought they were above the law and decided to live by their own rules. This is a money scam at the highest levels of business and how greed and the love of money can destroy lives. Matt Damon nails his performance with style! Remember the saying about crooks? "You can run but you cannot hide!" This film proves it!
I really liked this movie and I'm giving it 3 stars***  Don't miss it!
Running time is 108-minutes and Rated "R" for language.
